An initial scene has brief nudity as two men meet at the Bread Loaf Writer's Conference.

90 minute feature film based on the book, MARATHON (VIVISPHERE.COM). MARATHON tells the story of training and running the New York City Marathon and Richard's life as caregiver for the poet William Meredith after his stroke. 23 minute short documentary precursor, BODY AND SOUL will document the career of John Kelley and the road race named in his honor.

Auditions will be held at the Garde Gallery, the corner of State and Meridian, downtown New London, Ct. Very close to Amtrack station. Garde Arts Center 325 State Street, New London, CT 06320.

MARATHON is based on a true story.

(based on the poet William Meredith) Male, Caucasian. Story opens when William is 52, in good health as a faculty member at the Bread Loaf Writer's conference. Much of the action takes place after his stroke at age 63. The story ends with William's winning the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry at age 68. PRINCIPAL

[ RICHARD ]
Male, Caucasian. Richard is 25 when the story opens in 1972, a student at Bread Loaf. The middle action takes place 11 years later and ends when he is 41 and has completed the New York City Marathon. PRINCIPAL

[ ELIZABETH ]
Female. Caucasian. William's sister. Two years older than William, i.e. 54, 63, and 70. She provides the dramatic conflict in her opposition to Richard's plans. PRINCIPAL
